Father of Shot reporter reaffirms to push for gun control safety-- Bernadette Negrete 8th

Summary: The article I chose is about the two reporters who were shot. It explains the only reason they were shot was because of the guns that are readily available in America. The father of one of the victims explains that if America looked at gun permits more closely to see if they were real and permitted this would have never happened. He is now pushing to get the gun problem under control and that her death is a wake up call to America. He thinks we need to change our policies in order to stop this from happening again. All the while Donald Trump says that it’s not that guns are the issue, it’s the mental instability of the people who own these guns.

Analysis: For once I have to agree with Trump because America can sell a gun to pretty much everyone. And not everyone just ups and shoot someone. HE makes an interesting point saying that the man’s mental instability is really the problem because it’s true. More than a third of Americans own at least one gun in their household and that’s the people who have permits. On the new we don’t hear about a third of Americans shooting up stores and libraries, we hear about two or three incidents were someone shoots someone else. And those are usually isolated because their usually only committed by one person who believed they were right to do so. Ninety-five percent of insane people believe their sane. It’s not America’s fault that insane people can own guns, it’s inevitable, and a person can seem like something else when buying a gun. The only thing we can stop, is getting people with mental instability committed so that they don’t commit any gun related crimes.

  1. As mush as it hurts me to do so, I too have to agree with Trump. America shouldn't be allowing just anyone to obtain a gun permit, I feel that we as a country should make it harder for anyone to gain a gun permit so we can help preserve lives.

  2. America needs to rework its system. I mean, having marijuana can get you arrested but having a gun is totally fine. Sure, you probably need a permit to purchase any weapon (and marijuana, where ever it's legal), but it should still have restrictions. Maybe trading guns for something valuable, like you do for tools in Orange is the New Black, could become a nationwide thing. Guns can't just be given out willy-nilly. There needs to be a bigger caution towards guns. Trump may be right about something for once.
