Sanders claims he's "strong" on gun control-Molly Mitchell 5th Period

Summary
A candidate quickly gaining popularity, the Vermont senator Bernie Sanders currently has much to say about gun control. He claims to support the idea of gun control laws just as much as his Democratic competitors, and that he is a great advocate of making it mandatory to check the background of anyone attempting to purchase a firearm. He states that despite "coming from a  rural state that has almost no gun control", he can rise above the noise and enact real gun laws that will benefit America as a whole. Sanders also points out the need for even more gun regulation on those whose mental state might cause them to harm themselves or others. He states that America is quite literally terrible at regulating who is allowed access to guns and who shouldn't be allowed access to guns. Although Sanders seems like quite the underdog, he is quickly rising up the ranks of popularity with minorities and all those who favor stricter gun laws.

Analysis
As someone who supports the idea of stricter gun laws, I might be bias towards Bernie Sanders and other active members of the Democratic Party, but nonetheless I still can say that Bernie's approach to gun control is nothing I haven't heard before. This is not necessarily a bad thing though, if anything its great to think theres a possibility of less people being shot, and less people doing the shooting. And Sanders' approach to the idea is smart. Background checks are simply a good idea in my own, and apparently Bernie Sanders, opinion. Easily safer than selling guns to any old chap who saunters into the shop. Overall, I thought this article was optimistic, and although it's not clear whether Sanders even has a chance of winning yet, his views offer a glimmer of hope, at least to me.
