In Gun Control Marches, Students Led but Adults Provided Key Resources
March for Our Lives protests that unfolded on Saturday drew hundreds of thousands of demonstrators across the country which were inspired and often led by students. As there has been an insane amount of school shootings, the Parkland shooting made students say enough and fight for gun regulation. In opposition to this, Breitbart, a conservative website, said the events were “directed, promoted and funded by left-wing adults and adult-led organizations.” Although some adults were involved in planning, students were crucial in the orcestrating of the protests.
This relates to the U.S. constitution, specifically the 2nd amendment. It says, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This is super irrelevant to modern times since the advancement of technology has made it so weapons are faster and more powerful.
