Manon McCollum -- U.S. to expel 60 suspected Russian spies as punishment for poison attack in Britain

In response to the shameless killing of a former Russian agent in Britain, along with his daughter, the United States expelled 60 suspected Russian spies from the country, as well as closing a Russian consulate in Seattle. In the largest retaliation against foreign intelligence since the Cold War, this unanimously lauded move simply underpins the tense relations between Russia and the rest of the world.

One person remaining mysteriously quiet during this otherwise triumphant exercise in national security is our President, Donald J. Trump. This expulsion seems to be a unanimous victory on the part of the West, but the President is not sharing in the glory.

In the history of US foreign policy, especially against Russia, all branches and parties have been united in opposition, for better or worse. To see the President hesitant to support the ousting of russian spies is a strange place to be.

  1. Hmm it's interesting to see how the politics unfolds, how much lying and manipulations can be used.
