Summary:
For the fourth time this month, residents, living in Austin, TX, have encoutered an exploding device that was stuffed inside a delivery package and was left at the door of their house.. This alarming incident is believed to have started a dangerous trend of bombings in that city.
On Sunday, another dangerous device was left on the side of a residential road and was triggered by a tripwire. Although police and investigators have found similarities between the bomb on the residential road and the bombs that were parceled to people’s houses, the bomb left on the road shows “a higher level of sophistication [and] a higher level of skill”.
After investigating the reasons for these bombings, Austin Police Chief Brian Manley have come to the conclusion that “[they] are clearly dealing with what [they] expect to be a serial bomber at this point”.
Analysis:
I don’t understand why planting bombs in places where people could get killed or extremely injured is at all a good idea. Why would anyone have the drive to create such a strategic plan to harm people??? This type of action is not only worrisome to those living in Austin but everywhere else in the United States.
Also, since Dallas and Austin are close to each other, I’m even more concerned for the safety of myself and everyone around me.
