Miadora Ibanez-School Officials Wanted Florida Gunman Committed Long Before a Massacre - The New York Times

Summary-
This article is talking about how Nikolas Cruz (the shooter of the massacre we had last month) had been wanted by Miami’s school officials since as early as 2016. It lists several instances of him being involved in suspicious activities and it mentions him having a violent streak; whether it was him making violent threats to others or himself.

Analysis-
I think this is sad because I feel like since he got “off the hook” so many times he thought he could do anything. His classmates described him to always be seeking attention and even more so since he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism and obsessive-compulsive disorder; I just wish something had been done earlier.

  1. I agree that this is really sad. If he had been arrested as early as 2016 the shooting could have been completely avoided. He obviously needed help, and the fact that he was not caught sooner is a little upsetting. I'm just glad that he can no longer do any harm to others.
