Students Return to Stoneman Douglas HS for First Time Since Massacre

In Parkland, Florida, for the first time since February 14, the from Majorory Stoneman Douglas High School, return to class. About a week after the shooting took place. About a week after former student “Nikolas Cruz walked into the school and opened fire with an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle,” and left 17 people dead. Outside the school, students talked about what it felt like to return to the scene of the killing. The incident last many students and families devistaded and determined to make a difference. Students have begun speaking out stating “their fear and understanding that it will never be the same again.”

This article highlights the idea of necessary reform. This relates to APUSH during the time period during and after the Civil War when women and minorities continuously demanded a change in their mistreatment. Both the students and the people affected by this event have the same mindset of determination to insure change.
