Jeson Aviles - New Los Angeles ‘Parking Meters’ Are Collecting Change For the Homeless

In Southern California, parking meters have begun putting change submitted by individuals towards benefitting homeless people. Earlier in the month, Los Angeles unveiled 6 new colorful meters that collects coins for C3, the Skid Row-based charity, which is a nonprofit dedicated to pairing homeless residents with housing. Apparently, this idea was introduced and approved 5 years ago. Yikes. The meters will raise money through sponsorships costing 3,500 also.

I continuously witness events and movements eliminating absences of homeless aid, but the percentages of poverty and homeless people seems to steadily rise regardless of efforts. Oh well.
