A group of teens in Washington DC  composed a “lie-in” they call it outside of the White House on presidents day to show lawmakers the need to pass stricter gun laws.the group name “Teens for Gun Reform started organizing this seeking 17 demonstrators to lie down on the streets for 3 minutes to show how long it to for attacker Nikolas Cruz to shoot and kill 17 innocent people.the group hope that their  close friends, the 17 demonstrators would attend the “lie-in”, but after the word spread on social media more than 100 people showed up to support the demonstration. All the talk of the “lie-in” brought it to the attention to Rep. Don Beyer a Virginia Democrat which caused him to attend. He said that he was proud of the students and that they were being politically active and making a difference.Bowen who organized along with Nuechterlein on facebook said that the “lie-in” was very powerful and that they were inspired by the surviving victim of the Parkland shooting.

  1. I, too, am extremely proud of these survivors and the actions they're taking against common dismissals of being too young or knowing too little. I plan on participating in the walk-out of April 14 and hope others join as well.
