A bipartisan group of senators reached agreement to a small rewrite on the immigration laws that would increase the numbers of border security.President Trump suggested some would say that he said he would veto any plan the did not go according to his. Senators on both sides have been racing to get this legislation that could make everyone happy by increasing border security and giving a chance to young immigrants brought to America as children.The bipartisan senators if going through with their legislation they would have 25 million dollar for border security and the building of the wall along the Mexican border that Trump wants built over the next 10 years.Also it would give a path to citizenship for the immigrants brought here as child but Trump doesn’t wasn’t that.Trump wanted told the senator to oppose any bill that did not go along with his “four pillar” plan for immigration.trump wants both sides to support the Grassley bill which would get a path of citizenship for 1.8 million immigrants and end the lottery visa program.Increasing a lot of other things among that.Trump said that he is opposing any short term approach to the immigration problem which would continue to protect “dreamer’ for a few more years.White house advisors state that there was nothing wrong with what Trump was saying and that “dreamers” should blame democrats if the legislation doesn’t go through.The advisors have made it clear that President trump is not compromising any further.This connects to APUSH because after world war 1 there was restrictions on immigration because of the fear of communism.
