Nancy Reagan passed away on Sunday due to congestive heart failure at the age of 94. She will be buried at the Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband. President Obama, Mitt Romney, and the Bush all sent condolences to the Reagan family this past weekend. Nancy’s biggest concern was always sticking up for her husband, especially after he was shot in an assassination attempt in 1981. Nancy and Ronald met in Hollywood in 1949, and they were married in 1952. Nancy Reagan brought about a sense of elegance to the White House when her husband was inaugurated in 1981. During Nancy Reagan’s time as first lady, she redefined its role by speaking out about Alzheimers on behalf of the millions of families affected by it.
Nancy Reagan was a stylish lady, who spoke out about drug use with the “Just Say No” campaign. Her impactful changes to the role of the first lady paved the path for women like Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” Campaign.
