Turkey dogs take America by friendly storms-Bethany Wolfe 3rd

summary:
Many golden retrievers, a growing fad in Istanbul, roam unwanted. They are bought as puppies and kicked out when they get too big and difficult to care for, most end up walking the roads or forests or caged in shelters. However, Yasemin Baban has taken it upon herself to make a difference and find a home for these sweethearts. Surprisingly, dozens of the dogs have found homes in Atlanta, Georgia among other places in the U.S.
analysis:
It's heartbreaking to know so many goldens live without homes as they are adapted to houses rather than the outdoors. However, knowing that people like Baban are doing whatever they can to find the goldens homes is very encouraging. Although they are criticized by some who believe the dogs are for testing, they continue in their work to save them.

  1. That's so awesome that they are helping all of the dogs! Also how can people just kick out their dog?! Are they so heartless they just don't care if it dies or not?
