Claudia Anthony "This is the end of fossil fuels"

The adoption of the "Paris Agreement" on Saturday at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was a huge step towards global conservation. The agreement, states that countries that take the pledge will limit global warming below 1.5 degrees. This may mean the end of fossil fuels and a possibility that the world will have zero green house gas emissions by 2080. Steps like this agreement help to avoid super droughts, rising rides, dangerous floods, and other causes of global warming. The committee, COP21, realized that it is more effective for countries to work together, rather than try to take individual action towards improving the state of the environment.

I think it's wonderful that many countries are working together to decrease global warming, and I hope that this agreement is effective. The effectiveness depends on how willing the countries are to save the planet, and I hope they all give 100% dedication. This agreement shows how much the world has changed since the time of the colonies, in which the British colonists had total disregard for preserving natural resources.

  1. This reminds me of Reconstruction and how the world must all come together and unite in order to eliminate global warming, just like how Reconstruction tried to re-unify the Union.
