The 'Turning Point" for the World by Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex

On Saturday a climate change agreement was approved in Paris some saying it could be a "turning point for the world". President Obama said that the agreement was the framework for the climate crisis and it would create an effective way to handle the problem. The President called the agreement the "best chance we have to save the one planet we've got." The plan does have a few flaws though, critics have said that the plan is not specific enough. For example it doesn't explain how the agreement will be enforced or how the improvements will be measured as they happen. The major goal of the plan was to limit the average global warming to 2 degrees or around 4 degrees Fahrenheit.

I think that it's good that countries are starting to take initiative about the global warming problem. I wouldn't be surprised if the plan doesn't work out at first because the President said in order for it to work all nations will have to cooperate.

  1. I hope it's not too late. We've already done so much damage

  2. I agree with Kate. I don't know if there's much we can do because it's a too late of a notice. - Kayleigh Smerud

  3. I agree that the plan probably won't be that effective, especially in the beginning, considering that it will be difficult for so many nations to cooperate. -Claudia Anthony
