GOP Preparing for Contested Convention by Caroline North 9th period

The 2016 Republican Party presidential candidates are preparing for their upcoming debate in Las Vegas as Donald Trump still maintains a strong lead with the primaries fast approaching.  Even as Trump continues to unleash incendiary comments which cause a great deal of unrest and fuels anger with immigrants and minority groups, he remains popular in early voting states and nationally.

With Trump running in the 2016 election, he has drawn a significant amount of attention and publicity to the Republican Party.  Although the other Republican candidates are threatened by the current lead of the political party, they also view Trump as a positive asset who has brought all Republicans into a new light, and many new viewers to the Republican debates.  If Trump was elected president, our nation would face significant changes most likely including a decrease in minorities and a halt in immigration.  Many fear if Trump were elected, the next four years would turn into a full Donald Trump reality show.  The media adores Trump because of the outrageous things he says, he would be able to veto things just because he can, and he would make the entire globe his own personal playground.  Many are skeptical of the impact Donald Trump being elected would have on this nation.
