No such thing as a 'male' or 'female' brain // Kai Jones 1st period

In this article the human brain and it's characteristics related to gender are discussed. Human brains are not as gender specific as people have thought it too be. Scientists have discovered that the brain has both masculine and feminine aspects. Some people might have more feminine or masculine aspects in their brain and some have an even combination of both. There are not two types of brains, male and female. 1, 400 MRI scans were used in finding this discovery.

Gender has been a huge influence in U.S history. Women were always thought to have been less superior than men because their brains were supposedly different. This discovery shows that gender is more than just our sexual organs. Single-sex education was based on the idea that the two brains were somehow different and therefor girls would need to be taught in a different way than boys.

  1. I'm glad they're discovering things like this because in the end we're all equal, we're all just humans, and their is no gender who is superior to the other.

  2. That is really cool. We have both female and male genes in our brains.

  3. That's so interesting! I wish we could show this to all of the people who think that men are superior and prove that we are all equal.

  4. This is really interesting. It just goes to show that these supposed "major differences" that shaped our upbringing were really for nothing.
