Summary: Sunday, Donald Trump told his followers they were right for assaulting a black lives matter activist, an African American at his rally who interrupted his speech. He made this announcement 24 hours after telling his followers he did not condone physical attacks. Southall, whose grandparents passed over the Edmund Pettis bridge, compared the attack to a lynching. There are differing opinions, some that he incited the incident, and some that it was not right. The victim did not require medical treatment and does not want to press charges. Trump obviously has ran a racist campaign so far. Southall says that the attacks show the black and whiteness of America. It also shows the future of America with Trump in control.
Analysis: This article just points to another reason why Trump does not deserve an ounce of power. When he does have power, he abuses it and issues it to encourage his followers to do bad things. This article relates to lynchings that took place during the civil rights movement. It also relates to other times when people of political parties stood for something so strongly even if it wasn't right in this case, where they inflicted harm on others, like John Brown in harpers Revolt. This article just highlights how some people really haven't moved on from the 1900's and how necessary it is to keep educating people on these types of issues and making sure America knows behavior like this isn't okay. It's always upsetting to hear stories like this, where humanity really is lacking a bright future.Obviously, with a campaign like his, he will not be elected president. It is up to us as Americans to keep trash like this out of office.

  1. I wrote on the same thing and I was so angry about this. The civil rights movement was how many years ago? Trump is a little late to the racism party.
