After a gunman opened fire at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood on Friday, killing three people and injuring several others, democrats are calling fro gun control. President Obama made a statement saying, ”we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them.” The motive behind the shooting still remains unknown in its relation to planned parenthood. Republican candidate Huckabee calls the shooting an act of Domestic Terrorism.
I find it highly disconcerting that this President calls weapons available to the American Citizen "weapons of war" and yet his cabinet leaders are arming their agencies with these weapons and even military grade versions of what is sold to the public. I'm talking about the IRS, EPA, Bureu of Land Management (Dept of Interior) etc. Why would domestic agencies of our government need "weapons of war" to serve "we the people” It seems that gun control has been the boiling point between democratic rivals. That being said, the focus right now should be on the victims - not the gunman, not politics, not religion, not refugees, not police policies or practices. The victims.
