Sleepy Baby Pictures with Santa by Shelby Linker, 8th period

Zeke Walters, 6 month old, and his dad, Donnie, went to their local mall in Evansville, Indiana for Zeke's first pictures with Santa Claus. While waiting in line little Zeke fell asleep, his dad planned to walk around until he woke up but Santa said, "Don't wake your child; we got the perfect shot." Santa laid Zeke on his stomach as he continued to sleep. Donnie posted the pictures on Facebook and they spread like wildfires.

With everything going on lately I feel like this is a really sweet story about a child's first encounter with Santa. Since this is a history class I'll talk about the history of Santa Clause. It's believed that his origin was a monk named St. Nicholas who was born near modern-day Turkey. He was known for his kindness, one of the most well known stories was when he saved three impoverished sisters from being sold into slavery and/or prostitution by their father. He soon became known as the protector of children and sailors. Now that you have some extra Christmas history, enjoy this cute picture of baby Zeke and Santa.
