On Friday a shooting in Colorado Springs occured that killed three people and injured nine more. Loretta Lynch calls it "a crime against women." The shooting took place at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic. Police have not disclosed certain details, such as the motive, but are grieving the death of one of their officers. The suspected shooter is a man named Robert Lewis Dear. He is currently being held in jail. And while the motive is not published, many point towards the location as a hint. The shooter must have been against abortion. Planned parenthood has undergone 3 attacks since September. Mr. Dear the suspect of the shooting, has a criminal record including animal cruelty and domestic assault.

This article by Kevin Conlon, CNN, does a really great job of giving a detailed account on the situation. This shooting is quite recent, although there have been several others like it that i did not know about. When i found this article i was shocked. I dont understand why a man would decide to shoot several people for no reason. However "important" his motive may have been, why would he shoot people? And what result was he looking for? Like so many times in History, Robert decided to become violent with his views, And as we have seen from history, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. In this case i think we can all agree that it did not. People need to be aware of what is going on around them. I had no idea these attacks were happening, and although this attack occured in Colorado we never know where it could happen next.
This is so awful and I completely agree with Darby, we should be aware of what is happening around us because these events are shaping our world. It doesn't matter what his motive was, he should have never become violent. Peaceful protest has also been very successful throughout history.
