Thanksgiving Break -Kennedy Park

On Saturday, in the middle of a camping trip that was supposed to only last till Sunday, a (seemingly) friendly man helped a family get their stuck car out of the mud. Later this man brought alcoholic beverages to the family from his home not too far away from the camp site. After they put the campfire out, William Hudson (the suspect) took some of the family members into the woods where many gunshots were fired. He later returned to the rest of the family alone. A witness says that upon his return he chased Carl and Hannah Johnson into the camper and shot them both. The witness says that she stayed hidden and Sunday morning called the police. The police found Hudson in his house on Sunday morning covered in blood.

This is a story with seemingly no motive. Just a family going camping Thanksgiving weekend and never coming back. I think it's odd that the witness (Cynthia Johnson) took so long to phone the police and that Hudson was still just sitting there in his bloody clothes. This story relates back to history because it shows just how many more shootings there are now than in the past. This occured in Anderson County which is between Dallas and Houston.

  1. This is so scary and not at all in the Thanksgiving spirit!

  2. How awful. It is very strange that she waited so long to contact the police but if she felt her safety was in danger than I understand. My thoughts are with this family.

  3. I bet there's more to the story than what police have released to the public. I doubt someone would randomly target an entire family for no reason whatsoever. -Sophie Kurzius (8)
