Layla Maynard: Deadly Storms Close to Home

Summary: Multiple deaths have been reported recently due to serious storms in Kansas and Texas. Due to single car accidents in Kansas, five people have died in the past few months. All of these accidents were caused by hazardous road conditions, which drivers in the south, for the most part, are unaware how to deal with. In Texas, more and more lives are taken due to severe flooding. One deputy was left hanging onto a tree for two hours while trying to rescue a vehicle that had been swept away during a flood.

Analysis: I find it interesting that I have heard very little about these incidents, especially ones so close to us. I am also surprised that, due to the multiple problems arising from these hazardous road conditions, there hasn't been some sort of program set up by our local government, news networks, or police stations to help drivers in the south get more accustomed to driving under new conditions.
