Sophia Zhukova - "Yuriev Nights"

The action in memory of Yuri Gagarin will be held from 6 to 14 April in dozens of countries around the world. More than a hundred different events are planned, Tass correspondent in Los Angeles, Rick Henton, told TASS on Saturday.
"According to the latest data, 122 events have been registered on our website yurisnight.net within the framework of Yuriev Nights. And this number is likely to increase," he said.
In particular, 46 different actions within the framework of  “Yuriev Nights” will be held in Europe, 15 - in Asia, six - in Latin America and 26 - in the USA. NASA astronaut Storey Musgrave, a participant in six Space Shuttle flights, will take part in the California Science Center in Los Angeles at St. George's Night. This event, as the organizers noted, was timed to the anniversary of the first manned space flight on April 12, 1961, the upcoming 50th anniversary of the landing of the Apollo 11 crew on the moon on July 20, 1969 and the anniversary of the first flight of the American Space Shuttle on April 12, 1981.
"Yuriev night" was first organized in 2001 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first manned flight into space and became traditional. The goal of the “Yuriev night” is to interest the public in space flights and to inspire a new generation. "St. George's Night" contributes to the creation of a global community of people determined to determine the future of space research.

It is really important to remember this event. Yuri Gagarin is a great person and he was the one who opened many things to our world. He became the first human to journey into outer space when his Vostok spacecraft completed one orbit of the Earth on 12 April 1961. I think that the Cold War that we are learning about currently could be a good example of how the war can be not about killing people, but about competition in other things, which was mostly about innovations in space.
