A whale washed up in the Philippines who had died from dehydration and strangulation, after consuming 40 kilograms of plastic bags. The scientists were shocked by the amount of plastic in the young whale's system, asking governments to take action against the horribly polluted waters. This whale's death has been called a tragic reminder to the effects of pollution. Hundreds of thousands of sea mammals get killed by plastic every year.

The author of this article clearly wants better situations for marine life. This article was written to inform the audience of the treatment of these animals. It is a call to action for people to try to clean these ecosystems.

During the New Deal, Roosevelt created programs to help the environment. He made actual progress, for the environment, and though other presidents have tried to help too, progress has slowed. We need to continue to strive for a clean Earth, cause helpless animals are suffering because of us.
