In this article, CNN journalist Dakin Adone writes about famous hip-hop artist, Dr. Dre, posting about his daughter getting into The University of Southern California "all on her own". This is ironic because a few years ago he made a large donation to the school, establishing the Andre Young school of Arts.

This article was written by Dakin Adone, a reporter/journalist who works at CNN. It relates to U.S. history and current events in that it has a strong connection to the current college issue where parents are paying schools to accept their children. Dr. Dre states that his daughter did it all on her own, which is not completely true. While he didn't directly pay the school for his daughter to be accepted, it certainly brings the argument to mind that this donation had a big impact on her acceptance.

  1. I feel like his donation definitely helped her acceptance.

  2. The donation might have had a play on his daughter getting accepted to the university, which is really unfair for the people that actually try so hard to get into their dream schools~ Stephannie Hernandez

  3. This is hands down because of the donation. Famous hip-hop artist? Lots of money? Of course you'd want that for your school.
