Lesly Marquez-Tackling the relentless pressure to succeed thats driving girls to despair

Summary:

This article basically talks about how over the past few years the growth in anxiety and depression in young girls has doubled due to our society.Over the past few years young girls have started to get more opportunities and equality which is great but society is raising these girls to work hard and push themselves past there limits while still having the "perfect " body, being smart, being a mom, being successful and etc. Young girls are stressing themselves out more because they want to meet all of these requirement all at the same time still hoping its more than enough to please everyone else. Girls are raised to rely heavily on the feedback from others and to worry more and more about everyone else's  opinion about them. There are already a few programs and schools that are trying to teach young girls and women to know how to thrive but yet still maintain themselves healthy.

Analysis:

I completely agree that in todays society we teach our girls that we need to be perfect and that theres a specific way we need to be but that isn't true. Im glad to hear that there are programs and schools who are trying to change that and teach young girls to thrive while maintaining themselves healthy. This just comes to show we can all work hard to change what is already "in graved" into our society and make changes.

  1. I absolutely agree with your statement, because I feel that in the social media world; there are many "celebs" that make young women feel insecure about how they look and how they are perceived by others, thus making them change who they are.
