ISIS Claims Responsibility for Bombing of Philippines Cathedral; At Least 20 Dead - Miranda Farrar

On January 27, two bombs went off during a Sunday Mass in the Southern Philippines. At least 20 people were killed, and over 100 have been injured. After the first bomb went off, first responders arrived at the scene, and a second bomb went off, resulting in both civilian and troop casualties. The area has been secured by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as have other public places and places of worship.

As we have been learning recently, the Philippines was acquired during the Age of Imperialism, therefore, it is a territory of the United States. It is important that people are informed about what happens there, especially because maybe we could help. When attacks occur, we could send supplies, troops, etc. to help. Everyone is focused on the attack on ISIS, but in the meantime, we can assist those who have been harmed by them.
