In Orland Square Mall, a gunman shot two teens in the food court, dubbed as an "isolated incident", and is still on the run. Shoppers huddled in back rooms of stores and many fled to their cars during the chaos. Much like the recent gun violence surrounding the American public, this is yet another example of public violence that simply becomes another news story, ending up whisked away by the media. More awareness needs to be brought about actually creating change to stop this, like laws and education, instead of simply writing stories telling people it's occurring.
