This article describes the killing spree that a 21 year old man carried out and how he was ultimately captured. Dakota Theriot killed five people, including his parents, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's father and brother. His grandmother feared that he may come to her house and harm her, so she went to stay in a hotel. At this time, the police checked on her house in Richmond, VA, and this is where he was captured. He will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder, home invasion, and illegal use of weapons. The authorities believe that Theriot acted in this manner because of an argument he had with his girlfriend.
This article is another example of the horrific acts that people commit in this country. It does not mention how he obtained the weapon used, but I feel that gun control laws should be stronger so that it is very difficult to be able to purchase a gun. The more shootings that occur, the less I feel that there is any good that comes from citizens owning guns.
