Summary: This article covers the feelings of people toward the Meeting of Kanye West and the president-elect, Donald Trump. Many people feel that Kanye West meeting with the president-elect was a sort of 'treason' to the African American community. A question was brought up during the article which was, "Are celebrities the new black political leaders in the age of Trump. This question could be considered a very vital one because of the fact that little to none of the cabinet, the house, and the senate are black which means we will be coming into an age of minority under representation in which the most prominent characters are media stars.
Synthesis: The actions of Kanye West could easily be tied to when during the civil war, some of the Border States never seceded from the union which left the southern states which had seceded questioning if they were really ever with them in the first place. The Southern states more or less, lost their trust in the slave holding states that didn't secede because it made them think that they never truly supported the system or they were just 'wishy-washy' and only supported it when the times were good but the moment they had to defend the system they were too scared to do anything or risk anything to uphold it.
