Matthew Zapata - Teen Worker Fat Shamed

CNN released a video report about a teen worker at Cold Stone in Layton, Utah who was fat shamed by a customer. They claimed that during Justine Elwood's shift, a lady and her kids came into the store and while purchasing the ice cream the mother told her children not to eat too much ice cream or else they will end up look like Justine. As if that wasn't enough the lady took to yelp to write a revue on how she looses her appetite every time she walks into the ice cream shop because of how obese Justine is. This video is honestly just so sad to hear about and quite frankly a little shocking. I knew people in this world were ignorant but how ignorant do you have to be to go out of your way and write a bad review for a place based solely on the BODY TYPE of ONE worker. It was nice to see the outpouring love and support brought to her by the media and her community though. In todays world people judge other people sadly based on their physical attributes, which also is  completely relevant in history when talking about how white people saw anything that had a dark complexion as lesser and considered Africans as slaves just because of their skin color completely ignoring the humanity held within them.

  3. Adults always try to remind us that we shouldn't bully, yet quite a lot, they are the ones bullying others. It's especially sickening if those adults are parents. If you can't show love to others, then how can you prove to your children that you love them?

  4. This is so shocking that someone would go so far to say something that rude and just mean.

  5. This is so disturbing that anyone would act like this, not to mention teaching their children this behavior.
