Mikenzie Moon, "KKK members insist they're not "White supremacists"

Summary: In this article it explains how KKK leaders are asking not to be called "White Supremacists" but "White nationalists". In the North Carolina Virginia border after Trump won the presidency they declared whites are taking back America from blacks and minority groups. One man stated, "We're not white supremacists. We believe in our race." This was right before a pro- Trump Klan parade. The ironic part of this issue is their rulebook, the Kloran, states, "Shall ever be true in the faithful maintenance of White Supremacy." This article also gives a background of the KKK, and  how it started after the Civil War. That's when the KKK men would start terrorizing free African Americans, resulting in many murdered. Hate Crimes are continuously rising, many more have been brought to surface after the election of 2016. There is a video with the article that shows this terror. It also shows Donald Trump speaking in an interview telling people to stop it. I hope his bigotry  comments stop.  Lastly, as a president he should stop hate crimes.

Analysis/Synthesis: I think the KKK is a horrible thing, and they definitely don't have the right to say that they're not White Supremacists, when it  says that in their handbook. Honestly, I'm a bit scared for what the future of America holds with hate crimes continually rising. People need to love one another! The opinion of the author is anti KKK. This was an interesting article to read because of the  time period of history we are learning about now. This connects to the start of  white supremacy when slaves were forced to come to America and be considered as property. Once the 13th amendment was ratified, and slaves were freed, white supremacy grew.  It is truly heart breaking to still have the KKK in our modern days.

  1. I agree. This whole argument is so contradictory and indefensible. It all makes me sick.

  2. Claiming that a racist organization is simply "nationalist" while the entire point of America is that it's a diverse place where people are offered the same opportunities...hmm sounds fake but ok...
