Madilyn Weems - Nigeria Church Collapses Killing as many as 50 Worshippers

http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/10/africa/nigeria-church-collapse/index.html

In this article it discusses how a church in Nigeria ceiling fell killing 50 people ad injuring more including the minister. Many tell the recap of the incident and how chaos filled the room as the ceiling caved in on these helpless lives. Others have fled to the scene to help them and put in financial assistance for rebuilding so they will have a safe church to worship in. They are not completely sure why the ceiling caved in but it could be do to the old structure of the building. This saddens me, because it makes me realize how blessed I am to have a safe place that I can go to to praise the Lord, and I firmly believe there needs to be more missionaries going out to help these people and rebuild churches everywhere. Even if you are not religious, religion can create an energy of hope, love, passion, and a drive to do good around the world, so for religion to thrive there must be safe places created around the world. It's important to count our blessing and see that the United States may have it's issues, but we are so very blessed compared to these poorer nations. This relates to 9/11 in a smaller scale of the building collapsing testing their faith in the Lord, instead of terrorist it’s the lack of money and the need to rebuild the world.

  1. Kiri Luckey: This is so sad! Innocent people's lifes have been taking away. I feel so terrible for their friends, families, and loved ones. I also feel sorrow for the people who passed away in the building.

  2. This makes me really sad. It sucks that these people's safe space was taken away so senselessly.
