Sophia Jalilvand: Earthquake in Indonesia's Aceh province kills 25

Summary: Early Wednesday morning, there was an earthquake in the Pidie Jaya, Rudianto district of Indonesia. Thankfully, there has not (yet) been any news of a tsunami. The Aceh Red Cross has given us this small amount of news so far. The epicenter of the quake was near the city of Sigli (12 miles southeast of it). At least 25 have died.

Analysis: Natural disasters always happen, but it is unfortunate that so many have to occur in countries that struggle economically and that do not have a strong system in place for dealing with incidents such as this. Hopefully, no tsunami will occur and no more deaths are counted. I can only imagine how difficult it is for the families of the dead and wounded.
