Liza Kaye: terminally ill boy dies in santa's arms

It all started with a five year old terminally ill boy who's only wish was to meet and visit Santa Claus. "Santa" made it to the hospital in a quick 15 minutes. The little boy asked Santa several questions such as, "How can I tell when I get to where I'm going?" Santa then reported that he hugged the boy and he died in his arms. This remarkable story deeply effected Schmitt-Matzen, the role-player of Santa Claus.

The historical context relates back to colonial times. During these early-America days, several colonists would develop deathly diseases. The same disease this boy may have suffered from may have been similar to how someone in the colonial America time developed.

  1. This is such a bittersweet story. My heart goes out to the little boy's family.

  2. It's so sad that this young boys life was taken so soon. The man that played Santa is such a good person to this for him, I'm sure it was hard on him as well.
