Last week, I did a current event on a 28 year old man who had read an article stating Comet Pizza, a local pizzeria in D. C., was holding a child sex ring. The man drove to D. C. with three assault rifles ready to get to the bottom of things. Unfortunately, the article he had read on FaceBook was fake. He was later arrested. The man apparently had no bad intentions, only to save the children. His texts a few days before stated this.
A couple days ago, the court case was held. Many fought on his side, saying that he hadn't hurt anyone and was intending on saving children. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for carrying an unlicensed assault rifle.
Personally, i think fake news has to be stoped immediately. Although in this case nobody got hurt, we might not always be this lucky. Making an article spreading fake rumors just to get attention is foolish.
