For the second day in a row, Brussels, Belgium has been on the highest possible alert while they continue a hunt for suspects linked to the Paris attacks. Prime Minister Charles Michel has said they have reason to believe they can be next for an attack similar to the one in Paris and that they "have indications that the targets of such an attack will be areas that attract large crowds like commercial centers". Many police officers and Belgian soldiers sealed off streets around the the headquarters of the Brussels police force and closed the subway.
It is a good thing that they are taking certain steps to prevent terrorist attacks and I am sure a lot of people are going to be safer because of this. But all too often it has been proven that all the security in the world cannot always keep away danger. ISIS is starting to show that they like to tell their enemies exactly how much power they have and how they are going to use that power. I think that instead of succumbing to fear we should start looking at what our enemies are flaunting and see what weaknesses they are trying to hide. Once we start using history and sociology to figure them out, we can start cracking down on these terrorists.
