Cassidy Jones Reports on McLeod's "False" Rape

     Lara McLeod, now 23, was forced to have sex with her older sister's fiance, Joaquin Rams. Despite spoiling the families close ties with the soon-to-be husband, Lara told her parents the day after it happened, breaking down from trauma. Later that evening of informing her parents, Lara received a call from the Prince William County station, urgently needing to be formally interviewed. Following the interviewed, the Officers concluded Lara was lying about her rape and was immediately arrested for "obstructing justice." Lara McLeod is now 23, suffering from her reputation of falsely accusing Rams of raping her. Today, Is "piece by piece" glueing her life back together remembering an important lesson. She advises us to People say rape is serious and you should report it, but look what happened to me: I reported my rape, and they told me it never happened.
     Comparing thi modern day even to the past, in a way Anne Hutchinson was questioned of her experiences too. Hutchinson was sent to trial in the disbelief that she was not receiving messages from God, the word she was spreading to her "followers" was aligned with Winthrop's, such banished from the colony. McLeod was not banished from the state of Virginia but she was accused of misrepresenting what really happened to the her, even if the Police had accurate proof.

  1. I believe that she was raped, and it frustrates me that she went to the police, even though it must have been difficult to discuss, and she got no help from them. -Claudia Anthony

  2. I feel that if it had been the other way around they would have believed Rams. If it actually happened Rams just got away with rape because no one would listen to her. l agree with your history reference. -Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex
