Cameron Eisenberg- Children plea for Mom's life

Story-
In 1997 Kelly Gissendaner, along with her secret lover, fatally stabbed Douglas Gissendaner. Their daughter was 7 at the time. 18 years later the jury has decided to pass the death penalty on Kelly, the first women in Georgia since 1945 to be sentenced to death. But their daughter, Kayla, pleads with the jury to change the sentence to life without parole. Kayla started visiting her mom when she was 13, and has watched her change. Kelly has now become the prison religious minister and has helped inmates. Kayla says she forgives her mother now and has come to terms.
Analysts-
This is really heartwarming, in a kinda creepy way. The Mom plotted her husbands murder, but she has become a changed woman and helped others do better. And the daughter still cares for her mom, even after everything that happened. If someone has really changed, shouldn't they be given a chance to live?

  1. Eventhough she's changed, I wouldn't let her off wihout parole. She may snap again and kill her daughter, who knows? Maybe gaining the trust of everyone and becoming the religious minister at prison was just a plan. Then again, maybe she has changed. So many possibilities...
