Sneaking into the White House- Hannah Clifford 5th Period

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/20/politics/white-house-fence-jumper/index.html

On Sunday, a man hopped the fence of the White House and made it about 10 or 15 feet before he was apprehended. He was carrying a couple of packages, but they were later deemed harmless. Charges are pending.

This was written by David Wright for CNN. Keeping the president safe has been a top priority for the secret service for quite some time. Scares like this make them think, what if this trespasser is attempting to assassinate the president like what happened with Lincoln and JFK? However, the man that trespassed into the White House lawn was harmless, so I think he shouldn't be charged too seriously. Are people charged with a heavier sentence if they trespassed on the White House? Though he leads the country, I don't think charges should be enforced more heavily for his yard.
