Capital Punishment Banned in Nebraska- Lossie Hudspeth

Nebraska is to become one of the first conservative states, and the 19th state, to eliminate the death penalty from their constitution. Although, they haven't executed anyone since 1997, they have recently ordered lethal injections for the inmates on death row. Many of the senators worked to override the governor's veto of the bill abolishing capital punishment and won 30-19. This is a major achievement in recognizing the horrible nature of executions in America.
Capital Punishment was used frequently from the 1700's to the 1950's. Before people saw the punishment as a way to "get even" and it is still delivering that message today. Thankfully, the states and people recognize that wrong-doing and are stepping up to eliminate it.
