Baltimore in a State of Emergency - Veronica Nichols P.2

There is rioting in Baltimore after the death of Freddie Gray, who died after suffering injuries in police custody. The national Guard has been called in by local police after multiple cars were set on fire and bricks and bottles thrown at police one of which was said to be "unresponsive." Because of the close proximity of MAryland to D.C president Obama was briefed on the situation and assured that the violence would be kept under control.
This has been another sickening death of a black man in what seems like a never-ending stream. This is another chance for the Black Lives Matter movement to make a real change and shed light on the situations going on all around the US. The protesting people were also chanting "no justice no peace" One of the rallying cries of the Civil Rights Movement. The movements today can have parallels drawn back to the civil rights movement because in essence they are really still fighting for the same thing, simple equality, not just on a legal platform but also in social customs as well.
