Kendall Schler "won" this year's St. Louis Marathon but had her title taken away and was officially disqualified after marathon officials discovered that she cheated to win the race. She is believed to have entered the race in the last checkpoint, so she didn't really run all the intended miles of the marathon. Pictures from previous marathons showed that she wasn't running until the last checkpoint. The winner is actually Andrea Karl and she's glad she got to receive the victory she knew she deserved.
This reminded me of the Nixon Scandal. Nixon tried to cheat his way through the election by spying on the Democrats and seeing what they were up to but was later caught. This just goes to show that cheaters never win.
This is so... sad and disappointing. I was actually so touched and proud that people participated this year after all that has happened and something like this happens.
