Protest Turns Violent in Baltimore By: Zaria Chambers 5th period

After the funeral of Freddie Gray, the victim that was killed after his arrest in Baltimore violence broke out throughout the town. Many protesters began attacking police officers and so much violence erupted. Since the behavior of the protesters was so out of hand the Maryland National Guard has been on alert. There have been videos of police officers getting prepared for the madness to come. They were seen putting on all sorts of safety gear to protect them. There was a report that a group of teenagers had attacked one of the officers and police officers are trying to track down these suspects.

This is ridiculous. I don't think that being violent while protesting will do anything. If anything violence would make the whole situation worse because it's just adding fuel to the fire. I do hope that investigators will continue investigating this situation and that if there was any foul play that the police offices would be brought to justice. I also hope that the criminals that attacked the police officer would be caught as well. This can relate to things that happened earlier in history because of the protest. Martin Luther King approached the protest with nonviolence but things have changed since then. Hopefully things will get under control before anything really bad happens.
