1,000 People Protest in Baltimore on Freddie Gray's Death - Lindsey Galvan p.4

Baltimore police arrested 12 people Saturday after "pockets of individuals causing disturbances" broke off from protests over the death Freddie Gray and threw objects at officers. The violence broke out after hours of peaceful protests over the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old man who died in police custody on April 19, a week after he was pinned to the ground and arrested. His family's attorney said Gray suffered a severed spine. Gray's family has asked the city to remain calm and to stop the violent protests because they believe that is not what Freddie would have wanted.

Protests have been around for decades and in history the non-violent ones have gotten the results they were looking for. It makes sense as to why Gray's family members do not encourage/support the protests. Violence does not solve any problem.

  1. It's always great to protest but burning down other people's stuff is way too much. They should never run someone else's property.
