Crazy for Lilly by Megan Darlington

Targets partnership with Lilly Pulitzer, sent preppy women crazy when they all lined up at Target Sunday morning in hopes of being on of the firsts to get their hands on Lilly clothing, accessories, home, and decor. Many of the store sold out by 8 am while the online website totally crashed. Lets just say that these Lilly fanatics, are more like Lilly crackadics.
This craze for fashion and luxury relates to the roaring 20's when fashion was high and spending was out the roof, even when people may have not had as much money as they would have liked to admit. I think that this craze is just an example of how materialized parts of society are. We all want the latest trends, and people frankly want them NOW!

  1. I think that this is great for Target! I think that they should try their best to restock. This is a great example of supply and demand.

  2. This reveals the many cultural phenomenons that drive Americans crazy. The newest trends in society, such as clothing and technology, cause individuals to become obsessed over having what is "in."
