Gay Hotelier Apologizes -Hadassah Lai

Ian Reisner, a gay businessman hosted an event for presidential candidate Ted Cruz and is now facing boycotts along with his business partner Mati Weiderpass. The day after the event and the following week, Reisner faced emails, texts, blog posts, and phone calls criticizing him for hosting it. Reisner then made a public announcement in the gay-community that he had made a very big mistake and that he's very very sorry. He has spent time watching Cruz's campaigns carefully. He has admitted that he did not understand his policies and Cruz's campaign against same-sex marriage.

I don't think that he should face discrimination for holding this event, he was just exercising his hospitality, which is something everyone should do. Although Ted Cruz opposes same-sex marriage, and it may seem hypocritical that Reisner should hold the event, I think that he did a very kind thing to let him use his space and I respect him for it. After all, it is a free country, and Reisner should have the right to host whatever and whoever he likes without having to face such negative feedback.
