Virtual Traffic Lights- Kennedi Mayes

Scientists any Carnegie Melon claim to have come up with the next life saving innovation for cars: virtual traffic signals. According to them, the signals will be installed in your car, show on your windshield, and unique to you and your driving. When you approach an intersection, the signal will communicate with the cars around you, then give you the directions about proceeding. This is supposed to make drivers more efficient when commuting and make road way fatalities less. Some people are predicting that this system will become required on all cars in the future.

This is an interesting article. I don't know how I feel about technology being that vocal in driving. When it comes down to it, people are still human. If someone gets in a crash, it would be harder to see whether they were in the wrong or not is the evidence, the car, gets messed up with them. Technology is not 100% accurate and there is always room for error. I think the idea is good, but the execution of it might not be the best idea.

  1. I agree with you. Technology and inventions are coming up everyday and although they have good intentions, the ideas are weird and more inhuman. This might be the same response that past people went through with the creation of the cell phone and other technology that seemed so advanced
