Smart Bullets- by Rachel Devine (6th)

The Pentagon's Research Agency, DARPA, has begun the process of creating smart bullets- bullets that can change direction while in mid-air. The project is called EXACTO, standing for Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordinance, and is still in development. The bullets are meant to help American snipers overcome obstacles like weather and in general save more lives on the battlefield.

This article relates directly to what we are learning about in APUSH right now, and that is WWI. During the first world war,  many weapons were created- these included the tank, poison gas, the airplane, the machine gun, and more! This just goes to show that there is always room for improvment. Hopefully these bullets don't get into the wrong person's hands.

  1. I can see a lot going wrong with these bullets. I agree with taking precaution to whoever gets a hold of these bullets.

  2. Hopefully this invention will be controlled. We have seen weapons like the nuclear bomb cause great amounts of devastation and war.
