Walmart Shooting Tape Released- Fiona Womack 2nd period

https://news.vice.com/article/surveillance-video-released-as-jury-decides-not-to-indict-in-ohio-walmart-shooting

Recently, yet another unarmed black man was killed in vain. The 22 year old was shot in the back while holding a toy gun in a Walmart by none other than a cop. The same day that the officer was rendered innocent, the surveillance video proving the cop's unjustified slaughter of this man was released. Apparently, the DA wouldn't allow them to release the footage because it might sway the jury in one way or another. This cop is still free.
I think it's disgusting that cops can get away with shooting innocent people. After the recent killings of unarmed black men, justice should be served when it hasn't been. There must be a change sometime soon.

  1. things like this make me so angry. Like we expect cops to be the best and all good but sometimes they are worse than the criminals. The only difference is they can get away with it most of the time because of their title being a ''police officer.''

  2. It really looks like right before he was shot he tried to throw the gun down. But he didn't even have the chance to do that.
I'm genuinely glad they released this because anyone can see that this was unwarranted. Police made no effort to diffuse the situation before firing and made a horrible assumption that this man was dangerous.
It's absolutely ridiculous and the video made me cry as I watched it. I hope the officer feels guilt for this as long as he lives.

  3. This makes me sick! I feel like the police can get away with anything, even if it's killing an innocent person! It's disgusting.

  4. I definitely agree that there should be some stop to these premature shootings, yet I feel like the reason behind these are just poorly trained officers reverting back to the "safe move" by defending themselves when they feel like there could be a threat. However, holding the title of 'police officer' and obtaining a gun can lead to a great feeling of power, and unnecessary and tragic happenings can occur..
